Product Liability Claims
When you buy products such as toys, furniture, electrical items, cars, food, medicine and medical devices they are subject to high regulatory standards. When you buy or use these products, certain quality standards have to be met from the manufacturing stage through to the packaging stage. If you suffer illness or injury arising from the negligence of a manufacturer, or due to a defective product and we can establish that the manufacturer has been negligent and that the product is defective, we can advise you on making a claim for compensation.
Here are a few examples for the types of product liability claims you can claim for:
- Various products such as toys, furniture, electrical goods, food, cars where the manufacturer can be proved negligent or the product can be proved defective.
- eg a toy designed for a baby or toddler that has very sharp edges or small, swallowable parts without warning labels or a coffee maker that allows steam to escape and heat a handle to scalding temperatures or a recently bought cup that shatters when hot water is added
- Hair products, such as hair dryers, tongs, straighteners, chemical treatments, and cosmetic treatments such as laser surgery, breast implants that should not cause scarring, scalds, burns, melted hair or prolonged and excessive pain.
- Food that can give rise to e-coli, CJD or salmonella or other types of food poisoning.
