Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to pay any legal fees?

Recover! deal only in personal injury claims. All the claims that our solicitors run are based upon genuine no win-no fee arrangement, more properly known as a conditional fee agreement. This means that with insurance you will not have to contribute to the cost of running your claim including:

  • legal fees
  • medical fess
  • accountant's reports
  • any other expenses

Our solicitors do not ask clients to part with any money and will also insure you (if we should not be successful) against any liability for the other side's fees.
Whether you win or lose it won't cost you a penny. Of course there are conditions which apply both to your agreement with the solicitor and the insurer

Our solicitors won’t deduct anything from your compensation should you win your case. All our solicitors ask of you is that you answer our questions as fully and truthfully as possible.

What compensation am I entitled to claim?

You are entitled to compensation for your injuries and any reasonable financial losses incurred as a result of the accident such as:

  • loss of earnings
  • loss of pension contribution
  • travelling costs
  • care costs
  • medical expenses

If in the future you can't work because of your injuries, you will be entitled to compensation for this. If you cannot return to work or return to a lower paid job - you will entitled to a significant sum to cover future losses.

How long will a claim take?

Your claim can take from anything between 3 months and 4 years or more depending upon the complexity of the claim but most claims settle within 12 to 18 months. The time very much depends on your recovery and whether or not liability is disputed. It is important that our solicitors are able to find out all the injuries you have suffered from so that they can obtain the maximum amount of compensation for you.

Will I have to go to Court if I Claim?

Probably not. If liability is admitted, your opponent’s insurance company will want to try and settle your claim without going to Court. This is what happens in the vast majority of cases. However, if your opponent’s insurance company dispute liability, then they will refuse to settle and it is likely that we will have to start Court proceedings. This still does not mean that you will have to go to Court as our legal specialists will attempt to agree an out of Court settlement. In fact, very few cases do go to a final Court hearing.
